B&A Engineering Delivers Space Flight Hardware
12/1/08
B&A Engineering is pleased to announce the delivery of Mars
Science Laboratory (MSL), Chemistry and Mineralogy (CheMin) Instrument
Digital board and FPGA. B&A Engineering developed the Digital
board and the FPGA for NASA/JPL.
MSL is scheduled to launch in the fall of 2011 and is part of long-term
effort of robotic exploration of the red planet. MSL is a rover that
will assess whether Mars ever, or is still today, an environment able
to support microbial life. Its mission is to determine the planet’s
“habitability.”
CheMin will identify and measure the abundances of various minerals on
Mars. Using CheMin, scientists will be able to study further the role
that water, an essential ingredient for life as we know it, played in
forming minerals on Mars.
